Anil Sharma directorial Gadar 2 has been making the headlines for all the right reasons. From breaking the box-office records of previous movies to leaving the fans mesmerised with its action-packed sequences, the movie has been a trending topic on social media for quite some time now. While the movie has brought fans to the theatres, there have been a few instances in the past few days where things have gotten a little out of hand. After reports of two miscreants throwing bombs outside a theatre in Patna surfaced, it is now being reported that a few moviegoers were assaulted by bouncers. 

According to India Today, the incident occurred at the South X Kanpur cinema hall, where bouncers allegedly beat up a few movie watchers, who were there for Gadar 2, for complaining about poor air conditioning in the theatre. As per the media publication, trouble started when some people voiced their concerns about inadequate cooling. In response to the complaints, the bouncers resorted to physical violence against the complainers. A video of the same was uploaded on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday evening. The report quoted Mithilesh Gupta, the president of Uttar Pradesh Dal Mill Association, who attended the movie screening with his family. Recalling the incident, he explained that after the issue with AC was addressed, the bouncers and the management called his sons outside and brutally assaulted them. Authorities intervened in the matter and attempted to calm the agitated crowd. Addressing the public, the Kanpur Police Commissionerate stated that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law and legal action is underway. Talking about Gadar 2, it is a sequel to the blockbuster hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001). The partition drama followed the journey of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) who falls in love with a Pakistani Muslim girl Sakina (Ameesha Patel). After they get married and have a kid (Utkarsh Sharma), Sakina is forced to go to her country by her father, leaving her family. The father-son duo then goes to Pakistan to rescue her. The sequel focuses more on the father-son relationship and how Tara goes to rescue his son, who is captured in Pakistan. Released on August 11th, 2023, the movie is directed and produced by Anil Sharma.
